So! That’s the sales pitch for our first ever physical CD album we have produced, and we’re beyond excited about it. To hold something in your hands that you have worked so many hours on, written every step of the way, thought about every single note and how it hits, what instruments to use and pulled those melodies into being: feels like a major achievement. Never mind all the artwork and concept building we’ve done. We’re celebrating at home with a bottle of champagne and a takeaway to toast to start of something wonderful!
Phases was dreamt up as a healing exercise to process grief and to deal with anxiety difficulties we were having. And it really worked! We loved the idea of the sun and the moon being a constant and guiding us through difficult times and we wanted to incorporate that into each track. Here are the track listings:

The ordering of the tracks is very intentional and makes the album flow from the beginning of ‘Morning Sun’ to the passing of the day, to ‘Sunset’ and ‘Dusk’ and the nighttime, to then having the sun rise again the next day with ‘Sunrise’. We hope listeners will appreciate the complete journey of the album and find it a therapeutic listening experience.
Each track was devised with imagery before it was actually written. We find having a visual template of our intentions for the music, helps with the writing process to keep us on track and make sure each piece of music fulfils the desired outcome. In our studio, we work from these images, constantly referencing them in our minds to ensure that the particular ‘vibe’ and message for each track is felt audibly when listening. We hope we’ve managed to achieve this, and certainly feedback from people who have discovered our music so far has been overwhelmingly positive and encouraging.
We’re really hopeful for the future and what this could mean for us if we continue to write releases such as this and to produce and promote them ourselves. All the while advocating for the use of physical CD media over being digitally overwhelmed and exhausted. There are no ads on a CD!
